Arctic Blast 2001 Classroom "Collaboration" Contest Rules and Regulations
1. No purchase necessary. Open to all legal residents of the 50 United States, District of Columbia, and Canada (excluding entrants located in Quebec Canada) who are at least 5 years of age, have current Internet access as of April 6, 2001, and who answer at least one question from one of the eight Study Circles hosted by Team Arctic Blast. Employees of Lotus, IBM, Nomads Adventure & Education, Connectria and their subsidiaries, advertising and promotion agencies, and the immediate families of each are not eligible to participate. Contest begins on April 6, 2001 at 8:00AM EST, and ends on May 5, 2001, 12:00AM EST ("Contest Period"). To enter the contest, simply access the Arctic Blast 2001 website located at www.arcticblast.polarhusky.com, enter the Collaboration Zone (user name and password required), click on one of the eight Study Circles, answer as many of the questions in the 'brainstorming' and 'collaboration activities' sections as you like, and your answers will automatically be submitted to Team Arctic Blast during the Contest Period.
2. First, Second, and Third prizes will be selected for each of the eight Study Circles, on or about June 1, 2001, by judges from Nomads Adventure & Education, Lotus Development Corporation and Connectria, whose decisions on all contest matters will be final. Contest entries will be judged based on the following criteria - honesty, uniqueness, and regional insights. Entrants may, but are not required to, complete all of the questions in the eight Collaboration Zones, however, doing so, shall in no way increase or decrease entrants odds of winning. Odds of winning a prize depends on the number of entries received.
3. Eight (8) First Prize winners will receive 'The Imperial' - a 12' raised-relief antique globe accompanied by a hardboard Rand McNally Atlas (approximate retail value US$ 164.00). Eight (8) Second Prize winners will receive an official adoption certificate of a polar husky along with a full-size picture (approximate retail value US$ 50.00). Eight (8) Third Prize winners will receive an autographed Arctic Blast poster along with an inflatable topographical world globe (approximate retail value US$ 10.00). Prizes are not transferable, may not be substituted, and may not be redeemed for cash. Any and all federal, state, or local taxes are the responsibility of the winners. The winning names will be posted at www.arcticblast.polarhusky.com/contest, approximately on June 1,2001. The winners will be notified by phone and/or mail, and the prizes will be shipped to the winners, F.O.B. Point of Destination, within approximately four weeks of the selection of the winning entries.
4. By participating, entrants agree to release Lotus and IBM, their respective subsidiaries and affiliates, employees and agents from and against any and all liability for any injury or loss caused by or resulting from entry or participation in the contest. Except where prohibited, participation in the contest shall constitute the winner's consent that sponsors may use the winner's name, address, photograph, or other likeness or statements of the winners, for promotional purposes without further payment or consideration. Lotus, IBM and all sponsors are not responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate entry information regarding the contest or for printing, phone, technical, network, electronic, computer, hardware or software failure or damage of any kind which may occur in the processing, printing, or electronic distribution or reception of contest materials. The winners may be required to sign an affidavit of eligibility and/or a liability release. Sponsors reserve the right to disqualify any entrant who has violated the rules and to modify, suspend or terminate the contest in the event that it becomes technically corrupted or void. In the event of any dispute regarding an entry source, the entry will be deemed submitted by the holder of the e-mail or Internet access account. Contest is void where restricted or prohibited.
5. This contest is subject to the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and the entrants agree to the personal jurisdiction of the courts within the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
